My name is Ben Annett. Under the name Ben’s Lemonaid I create naturalistic sculptures from reclaimed materials.
While installing eavestroughs, I noticed the colours and textures of the materials being replaced and started seeing great potential. My first attempts to use these materials were four fish sculptures (3 wall mounted and one 3D piece) as a wedding gift. They were a hit.
Since then, I’ve been transforming eavestroughs, siding, burned-out lightbulbs, and other recycled materials into sculptures big and small. The only 'new' stuff used are fasteners, occasionally adhesives, and safety components.
My work includes two public installations in London ON, including a 28-foot sunflower in London's Old East Village, along with commissions, retail signs, and self-imagined sculptures and wall art. I was an artist-in-residence at Point Pelee National Park in 2024 and am a gallery member at Art with Panache in Downtown London.
You can find my sculptures in:
- Art Emporium in Post Stanley, ON.
- Art with Panache in London’s Talbot Centre Mall downtown on Richmond St..
-Throughout the summer in Stratford’s Art in the Park.
