Pelee Marsh

Inspired by the marsh in Point Pelee National Park, this scene depicts the two Water Lily species (Fragrant White Lily and Spatterdock) and the tall grasses that the marsh is know for.

Pelee Marsh was made from reclaimed eavestroughs, rusty reclaimed fence wire, old coat hangers, piano strings and old tv coaxial cable.  The wooden bases are pieces of the park’s old marsh boardwalk and the yellow was from an old sign from the parks scrap lot.*

   * I took place in the park's annual Artist in Residence program in the summer of 2024.  I was very lucky to be granted supervised access to the park's scrap yard where I got my hands on the old boardwalk and sign.
